How to use a weight training sled

Step 1
First purchase a Prowler sled. They are all built with the same design so there is no need to search for a different kind. Also make sure the Prowler that you purchase has ski's on the bottom of the posts.I have previously purchased one with wheels, and based on a personal opinion I thought it was too easy and the ski's made it harder. You could find a Prowler on the internet with a lot of ease.
Step 2
Second obtain plate weights to place onto the sled. I usually suggest that the trainer puts have to near all their body weight depending upon age and strength limitations. Dumbbells won't work on the sled because they will slide off the platform.
Step 3
Assume an athletic position. Grip the Prowler where it feels comfortable. Once ready assume an athletic position with your knee's bent and drive the sled in a straight line for a set number of seconds or feet. Repeat for the set number of periods or repetitions of pushing. This training methods is designed to involve your leg muscles and not your back so be careful when using it and always use proper form.
