How to buy football rib pads
Step-by-step Instructions
Here is what you need to do...
Step 1
Rib protectors tend to not be very common at most positions. Usually a running back, or quarterback would wear one. On occasions you may see a player with an injury wear rib protector. Rib protectors protect the mid section and back from damage. They are very good to help avoid any already existing injury.
Step 2
You can generally find rib protectors at any sporting goods store or online. Prices may vary depending where you decide to purchase it. Different brands have different qualities of rib protectors. It's an investment to your safety and you should consider buying the more expensive protector. Cheaper protectors tend to rip and give less padded support around the waste and back.
Step 3
When you buy a rib protector its best to try it on for size first. It should fit very tightly around the abdomen. Jump, run, and bounce around to ensure that it won't be sliding around when your playing on the field. Most rib protectors tie up in the back. Some brands will make rib protectors that have a velcro seam. The velcro sealing pads tend to come undone during a game and I wouldn't advise buying this type. Tie up rib protectors are much more comfortable and easy to use.
Special Attention
Difficulties people often experience or parts that need special attention to do it right.
Sizing is very important. Rib protectors add weight and can be very irritating to wear at first. They can help protect an injury or prevent an injury to the abdomen.
