How to Use Flaxseed Oil for Weight Gain

Step-by-step Instructions

Here is what you need to do...
Step 1

Flaxseed oil is a natural supplement that has an amazing array of benefits ranging from healthy fats to weight loss. In this case, however, we're going to look at the ways you can ingest flaxseed oil for weight gain. Below I've listed the flaxseed oil that I personally have tried. Other brands generally follow the same portion size, and the ingredients are all relatively similar. Let's take a look at what flaxseed oil does for you

Step 2

Like I said, flaxseed oil is an incredibly healthy supplement that gives your body Omega-3 fatty acids, as well as other essential fats. One teaspoon of flaxseed oil contains approximately 45 calories and 5 grams of fat. The ingredients that you get from flaxseed oil can be difficult to ascertain from normal foods, so taking these pills really helps save some time and hassle. An added bonus is that flaxseed oil helps your body absorb vitamins that are great for your skin and hair, and can help manage cholesterol levels.

Step 3

Taking flaxseed oil can help you lose weight or gain weight. Because of the fatty acids inside, flaxseed oil can actually trigger less of an apatite in your body, making you consume fewer calories throughout the day and thereby lose weight. However, if you eat heartily throughout the day and then add flaxseed oil, the extra easy-to-consume calories will help you pack on the pounds- in a good way. Simply follow the instructions on the bottle and wahlah!

Step 4

I'd like to mention that I am not personally recommending you take flaxseed oil. If you do so, it will be on your own merit and at your own risk. While flaxseed oil does offer numerous benefits, It also has the potential to be deadly if taken in incorrect doses. I am simply giving advice for you to use if and when you make your own decision to take flaxseed oil.

Special Attention

Difficulties people often experience or parts that need special attention to do it right.

Flaxseed oil can cause serious or fatal injury if an excess amount is ingested. For this reason, always be conscientious of the instructions listed on the label of whichever flaxseed oil brand you purchase. Aside from that, make sure you are also eating enough in your normal diet in order for the extra calories from flaxseed to help you pack on weight.

Funny or interesting story about this topic...

I had an old gym buddy who took flaxseed oil for numerous health related reasons. He figured that, in promoting healthy and essential fatty acids, flaxseed oil would bring him a declined appetite and therefor weight loss. However, the kid was just too big to not be eating a lot of food. Instead of compensating for extra meals, flaxseed oil was added on top of the meals he was already eating. This didn't result in weight loss, but instead in the very opposite. He never did stop taking flaxseed oil, though, because he was aware that the other nutritional benefits were too good to pass up.

When did you first do this & how did you get started?

I first started taking flaxseed oil during my freshman year of college. I never did it to gain or lose weight, but rather to include necessary fatty acids into my diet. Without flaxseed oil you basically have to eat a lot of fish to get the Omega-3 fatty acids that your body craves. I don't mind a good filet, but flaxseed oil is far quicker and less of a hassle. Maybe you will feel the same way if you decide for yourself to indulge in flaxseed oil. Either way, stay smart, and as always, happy lifting
