How to Choose the Best Wrestling Camps

Step-by-step Instructions

Here is what you need to do...
Step 1

The internet is a great place to find wrestling camps. Often a quick search on local wrestling camps will provide you with ample information on a variety of camps. They also may provide feedback or rankings of the past camps. This will help you review the camp that sounds right for you. Sign up for a camp that specializes in what you you need to improve in your personal technique. There are camps for take downs, pinning combinations, defense, etc. Choose the camp that will benefit you most.

Step 2

Watch the good wrestlers and ask them what camps they would recommend. Look at the gear that they are wearing. Often times they will wear the shirts to camps they have been involved in. Word of mouth is the best way to choose a good camp if you don't know the type of camp you are seeking. Since wrestling is not the most popular sport, you must talk to people that have attended the camp before to grasp an accurate view of the intensity and technique taught.

Step 3

Don't sway away from travelling long distances. Get the upper hand by attending out of state wrestling camps. Often times, these are the best camps to attend. They teach a different style which allows you to learn more. College Universities often hold the best camps because you are surrounded by Collegiate athletes who are there to share the technique that has led them to success.

Special Attention

Difficulties people often experience or parts that need special attention to do it right.

Eat, drink, and rest well! Camps can be very exhausting if you don't treat your body right. Keep your mind sharp and write down the moves that your learn so you have a reference to look back at once the camp is over. If you choose an overnight camp, bring plenty of clean cloths and soap to wash yourself with. If you don't clean yourself properly, you may get a skin infection.
