Step-up with Knee Raise
Differentiation: Mechanics
This variation of a step up is unique. Here is how: you work one leg at a time | and raise your knee up after you step onto the bench. You must engage your core to maintain balance. Engaging your core eventually increases the overall strength of your core | as well as your legs.

Starting Position
To get into starting position, do this...
1) Locate a movable flat bench.
2) Stand facing the wide side of the flat bench.
3) Place your feet hip-width apart.
Main Mechanics
Once in starting position, do this...
1) This is the starting position.
2) Step onto the bench with your right foot.
3) Once you are standing on the bench on your right leg, exhale while you lift your left knee
4) ...as high as you can.
5) Hold this position for a count of one second.
6) This is the ending position.
7) Then, inhale while you lower your left foot and step backward off the bench on your right foot.
8) Reverse the step-up motion, using your left foot and lifting your right knee.
9) Continue reps until you have completed a full set, alternating feet for each rep.
