Isometric Neck Exercise - Sides
Differentiation: Mechanics
This variation of a Neck exercise is unique from other Neck exercises. Here is how: you move your head side to side. This movement increases the size of your neck.
Location: anywhere
Force: Static
Body Position: Standing
Starting Position
To get into starting position, do this...
1) Locate an area of the gym with ample floor space to perform the exercise.
2) Stand upright.
3) Place your feet shoulder-width apart for stability.
4) ...and place your palm on the side of your head, while looking forward.
Main Mechanics
Once in starting position, do this...
1) This is the starting position.
2) Gradually press with your left hand while simultaneously resisting this movement with your neck muscles.
3) Gradually increase tension with your hand.
4) Hold this position for a count of one or two seconds.
5) Then, gradually relax your hand and neck muscles.
6) Repeat with your right palm placed on the right side of your head.

8) Repeat reps for a full set.
