Marion CoVelle's Involvement in Acting

Interview Questions

When did you first get started in Acting?

I began acting in plays when I was in elementary school. I then went on to do a few musicals and really utilized my dancing and singing skills. It is great and enjoyable becoming characters and entering worlds and times from which I was not a part of.

Something surprising about Acting that people would not know.

Acting is a great release of energy, when I become a character I envelope my whole self in that character. Surprisingly by becoming someone else you can learn a great deal about yourself.

What is Acting like?

Acting is great, sometimes difficult, mostly in the beginning though. Once you find your own niche and learn your technique to become the part and learn who you are supposed to be portraying its quite exhilarating, the rush on the stage as you can see the people following your every movement and lingering on your every word is the best.

Tell your Fans a funny or interesting story about Acting

I started off in stage plays and they really are my passion. In high school I had been cast for the part of Schroeder in "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown". I really wanted the role of Snoopy (he is the star of the show, ironically). Yet, I failed the singing part of the audition, I could not and still can not to this day sing "The Star Spangled Banner" in key. Well during the rehearsal period the guy cast as Snoopy ended up not being able to fulfill his duty and the director was in an uproar, as I stated Snoopy is like the star if the play. She was so upset who can I find that will learn these songs fit in the costume and be here on opening day seeing as it was like two weeks away. I raised my hand seeing as that is the part I wanted in the first place. She replied but how can you be Snoopy and you cant sing. Instead of saying yes I opened my mouth and began singing "Suppertime" one of the key songs in the play. Floored by my voice and the fact that I actually knew the song she says the part is yours, but, we have to find a Schroeder and you have to learn all of Snoopy's lines. Needless to say by the end of the rehearsal I had all the lines and called in my friend I had been running lines with and he played the part of Schroeder. All was well and the show ran without a hitch it was great.
