How To Buy the Best Post Workout Supplements For Muscle Gain

Step-by-step Instructions

Here is what you need to do...
Step 1

First off, remember that this is for muscle gaining; muscle gaining means weight gaining. More importantly, a pound of muscle is nearly one fourth the size of a pound of fat. So, it is quite likely that you will see a few extra pounds on your weight before you notice a bigger chest for example.

Step 2

Go to your local health food store, or online supplement store and immediately get the thought of finding something tasty out of your mind! You want to get big? Taste is not a factor! If something has great results and also tastes good, that is just a giant plus! What you want is something with AT LEAST 300 calories, tons of carbs and something called hydrolyzed whey protein. Ideally you want a powder with a mixture of hydrolyzed whey, casein protein, and soy protein. One, because your gains are not just made I,,editable after your workout, but all throughout the day as well.

Step 3

The hydrolyzed whey is a pre-digested protein, that is fast digesting and rapidly absorbed. This is what you want immediately after a workout. You also want carbs, carbs will keep you and your muscles energized after they've been strained and broken from your workout. Now since the shake you bought also has casein or soy protein in it, your muscles will be sustained for the rest of the day. (For those of you that don't know, casein protein is the opposite of hydrolyzed whey. Where the hydrolyzed whey is "fast digesting", the casein is " slow digesting".).

Step 4

The last thing I want to say is that you should not be conned into thinking that a particular supplement is the best, or better than another just because it has tons of protein per serving. Remember, just because your supplement has 50 grams of protein per serving, doesn't mean your body will absorb it all. So, when you spend 80 dollars on something that your really only reaping the benefits of, say 45 dollars worth, you will realize why I said "wasted my money" earlier. The best post workout shakes I've had usually have no more than 30 grams of protein, it's always about the carb/protein ratio. Good luck!

Special Attention

Difficulties people often experience or parts that need special attention to do it right.

As I mentioned before, the key is to find a fast digesting whey protein (hydrolyzed), WITH a lot of carbs! Isopure will not get you bigger!

Funny or interesting story about this topic...

I have probably spent thousands of dollars on supplements before I began to understand why nothing was working. Not too dummy, but definitely interesting!!

When did you first do this & how did you get started?

For years I have been trying to gain weight....and by weight, I mean pound upon pound of chick-magnatizing muscle. I have had the most intense, strenuous workouts and toned up. The definition I had I always attributed to the protein powder I was drinking post workout. However, aside from the undeniable shape I was getting, My weight leveled off at 135 pounds. I couldn't understand what was going on. Every protein or post workout shake promised to "add pounds", "gain weight", or "gain 20 pounds in 2 months". After four years, and all my money going down the drain every month, I had to figure something out before I was both broke and skinny!
